The pulse of Atlanta's professional Community

The Master Connector’s Note

Fall feels like a transition in more ways than one.

As the season changes, I’m noticing people changing with it.

New announcements are being made. Ideas that have been sitting quietly are finally being shared. People are pivoting, launching, stepping into new roles, and showing up more intentionally for the things they say they want.

And I love seeing it.

There is something about this time of year that feels like a reset without requiring you to start over. Sometimes the next chapter is not about becoming someone completely different. It is about finally moving on the things you have been thinking about, preparing for, or quietly working toward.

That is what I’m seeing around Atlanta right now.

People are stepping into rooms differently. Businesses are making moves. Community leaders are building. Creatives are putting their work out there. Professionals are giving themselves permission to shift.

So for October, I’m paying attention to the spaces, people, and opportunities that reflect that energy.

Consider this your reminder that you do not have to wait until January to make a move. This is a season for showing up for yourself, trusting the pivot, and going after what feels aligned.

And as always, The Inspire List is here to help you see what is moving around you while you do it.

With intention,

Rebecca Camon Founder, Inspire Atlanta

INSPIRE SPOTLIGHT

Meet Dr. Chris James

Founder of Earth Love Tissue

For October’s Inspire Spotlight, we’re introducing Dr. Chris James, founder of Earth Love Tissue, a Georgia-based bamboo tissue company built around a bigger mission.

Chris’ journey has moved through spoken word, theater, education, mental health advocacy, and now entrepreneurship. Through Earth Love, he is bringing those experiences together in a business focused on sustainability, second-chance employment, and community wellness.

What stood out to me is how personal the mission is. His brother and business partner spent 17½ years in prison, helping shape the company’s commitment to creating opportunities for people impacted by the justice system. Mental health remains part of the story too, with Chris continuing the work he has already been doing in counseling, suicide prevention, and youth programming.

This is more than a story about bamboo tissue. It is about what happens when purpose follows you into your next chapter.

What's Moving Atlanta?

October feels like Atlanta moving from preparation into action.

This month, writers, founders, entrepreneurs, business leaders, creatives, and community organizations are stepping into rooms built around ideas, capital, visibility, culture, technology, and impact.

We’re highlighting a mix of events worth knowing about, including the Decatur Book Festival, SynergyATL, Atlanta Pride, Venture Atlanta, the Atlanta Business League Super Tuesday Conference, and more.

What stands out most is the range of access these gatherings create, whether that means meeting a potential partner, learning how to compete for contracts, getting closer to investors, discovering new ideas, or simply finding the right community.

You do not need to be everywhere.

You just need to know which rooms make sense for where you are going.

Read the full October guide for dates, details, and registration links.

The Opportunity Exchange

October’s Opportunity Exchange goes well beyond a traditional jobs list.

This month, we’re sharing open doors across career, contract work, procurement, board leadership, vendor opportunities, and professional development. That includes an Atlanta Regional Commission RFP, an AIA Atlanta board opportunity, a creative contract role, two career fairs, an Invest Atlanta opening, and more.

The goal is simple: help you find opportunities you can actually act on.

Not every open door looks like a job posting. Sometimes it is a contract. Sometimes it is a board seat. Sometimes it is a room full of employers ready to meet you.

Take a look, find what fits your season, and move before the window closes.
